Texas Instruments BQ76940

Name of the part
BQ769x0

Previous work, similar parts
I’d have just used a generic tssop44 footprint, BUT I do not see one in the parts search OR google search for fritzing parts.

This is on TI’s datasheet, will that work?

Footprint
3 different footprints for this package from TI all TSSOP20/30/44
I need the TSSOP44 version

Thank you a million for any help in advance. I’d love to just have a generic TSSOP44 if anything. I appreciate you guys!

This part should do what you want. Note you will need to adjust the DRC settings down to get DRC to work correctly and change the grid size in pcb to 0.5mm to align with the 0.5mm pitch of the IC.

Peter, Thank you, I was just exploring around in inkscape trying to make this part. I got the plugin installed, and made a schematic SVG. looks just like yours. BUT you beat me to the punch. Super awesome! Again, thank you, I really appreciate your help. Blessings!

PS… I’ll put in a better effort next time, as it seems straight forward given what I see in inkscape just playing around, super awesome!!!

It isn’t as easy as it looks. There wasn’t a TSSOP44 footprint made so you need to make one which isn’t exactly trivial. If you are interested in making parts these two tutorials may help

I lately learned there aren’t links to the videos in Old_Grey’s tutorial so you need to do a google search for the title and then they come up on YouTube.

both apply to current Fritzing versions (many of the others are for older versions.)

Peter

Correct, I wouldn’t imply easy… Just prior experience with inkscape, surely will help matters. Nevertheless, I appreciate the links. SO FAR all the other parts I need are currently available in fritzing. I guess the fact I couldn’t find a TSSOP44, I thought strange, maybe I’m missign something, came here straight away and just asked. Seems what I did would be the ‘best route’ for most, as your turn around time was super FAST. less then 24hrs. I’m impressed. Thank you again, you’re a saint! May source bless you Peter.
