555_IC_astable.fzz sample not working

Sample in Fritzing v1.04 displays nothing on the oscilloscope during simulation. Also, wire 670 is black, it should be red (from +9v to pin 8 of 555).
The sample is reached via file > open example > all > 555 ic astable.
OS is Windows 11.
Only tried this sample as my own 555 circuit wasn’t showing osc or led bink at 1 Hz :frowning:

Maybe I should have titled this “EXAMPLE” rather than sample… Anyhow this example, completely unaltered, shows nothing on the oscilloscope. Anybody else get the same, or know what should be changed?

Are you running Fritzing in debug mode? Dynamic simulation (AFAIK, @fai is the expert who wrote simulation) is only available in beta in 1.0.4. Some of the posts on simulation in the past while detail how to start Fritzing in debug to use dynamic simulation (searching for “simulation” in the forum search bar should find the posts.)

Thanks, I’ll RTFM (read the friendly manual) on debug mode, and come back to you in the morning

Hi,

yes the 555_IC_astable.fzz shows oscilloscope ok when in debug mode. Thanks! Now to go fight with my stripboard fzz file…

If you have questions feel free to post.

Peter

Nice that you made it work!

Exactly, transitory simulation is an new feature only enabled in debug mode. More info about it in this post:
