I’m just starting w/ Fritzing, in hopes of it helping me w/ a few projects… I have two main uses in mind…
-
‘quick and dirty’ small projects and tasks like a breadboard test circuit layout or a larger “point-to-point” project. (If I want a PCB I’ll be firing up KiCAD)
-
Wiring diagrams for larger pieces of equipment - i.e. powerchairs, vehicles, large machines, etc. Others have recommended Fritzing for this because of it’s ability to do colored wires that can (sort of) match a wiring harness color code… The pictures I’ve seen of this look like breadboard mode without the breadboard showing…
Especially for the second task I’d really like to have some ‘generic’ large parts like motors, linear actuators, power supplies and so on… My initial poking around I haven’t been able to find anything of this sort, any pointers as to where I can find them?
About me - I’m a maker, and member / volunteer of the Artisans Asylum hackerspace in Allston, MA. I am also a paraplegic wheelchair user who spends a good bit of time hacking on mobility equipment.
Thanks,
