Steps I took that resulted in the problem:
Trying to Simulate a simple on/off LED with a switch and LED that both have SPICE data. Linked voltmeter to the appropriate contacts on the anode and cathode of the LED. Had switch simulated open, voltmeter reads 3 VDC.

With switch simulated open, voltmeter should read 0 VDC on the anode and cathode of the LED.
