Port Setting Unavailable

Steps I took that resulted in the problem:

…I’ve searched the forum and not found an answer to this question. I found a discussion of a similar issue here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19322432/arduino-tools-serial-port-greyed-out

I’m not sure if I need to install a virtual COM port and if so I do not have instructions on how to do so. The video on your tutorial site do not indicate this setup is necessary. All I have done is tried researching and running the program as administrator.

What I expected should have happened instead:

I expected the Port to be available to set. As it is not, I’m unable to upload sketch for the sample Arduino Blink project from Fritz.

My version of Fritzing and my operating system:

Windows 10
Version 0.9.2

Hi Anthony, do you have the same problem when using the Arduino IDE directly?

Try to get that working first, and follow Arduino’s official docs from here: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Windows

If the port is detected inside the Arduino IDE, then it should also show up in Fritzing.

Thanks Andre - you are correct it was a connection problem with the Arduino itself. Fritz is working great! Thank for your support!
