Please help! OpenBCI Ganglion board and Flat snap Ag-AgCl electrodes

Hi everyone! I’m a high school student working on a project involving a ganglion board and electrodes. Unfortunately, my group cannot find these parts on Fritzing. I was wondering if anybody knows how to obtain these parts or if they have an already made part.

This is what the OpenBCI ganglion board looks like:

This is what the flat snap electrodes look like:

Thank you so much in advance!

These two parts should do what you want. In both cases pcb view has been suppresses as not useful. The electrode doesn’t actually do anything except appear in breadboard and schematic though. On the board the connections should be to a right angle connector but that won’t work in breadboard so they go to pads on the board instead.

edit:

Correct schematic so the text is the correct size.

Openbci-ganglion-board.fzpz (22.6 KB)

Openbci-snap-electrode.fzpz (2.3 KB)

Hopefully you have expert assistance with this project as attaching electrodes to people can be dangerous if done incorrectly (note the requirement the the board be powered by a battery not the power line as one example! There are probably more I am not familiar with.)

Peter

Thank you so much!
I was wondering if the schematic for the ganglion board is supposed to look like this.

I’m sorry for all these questions - my group and I are relatively new to Fritzing.

Thank you in advance.

Nope there is an error in it which I just found and corrected. I will replace it with a better version.

edit:

The corrected version is now loaded. You will need to delete the current part and then shutdown Fritzing and restart it before it will let you load the new version. Right click on the part in the mine parts bin and select remove part. Then shutdown and restart Fritzing (it doesn’t actually delete the part until you answer yes to accept the changed parts and accept the changed part bin.)

Just curious, may I find out how you resolved the problem?

I had obviously saved the schematic svg after running FritzingCheckPart.py against the part. Saving the svg adds back in the font-size pxs that FritzingCheckPart.py removes and causes the font size change (either too high as in this case or too low.)

Peter

I was wondering if the schematic included the battery connection place (the 2-pin JST on the underside of the ganglion board). Again, thank you so much!

No, because there is no indication in the documentation (other than a cryptic comment in the schematic) about the location of the jst connector. The schematic has a battery indication but no indication on any other image of where it may be. I assume from the JS_2 battery label there is a JS2 connector somewhere but its location is a mystery.

presumably somewhere near SW5 which is present since it connects to it, but no indication of a loacation

their documentation is fairly lacking …

Peter

In case I wasn’t clear, it is easy enough to add the battery connector, I just need to know where it is to do so and I currently do not.
