It’s super frustrating when smaller open-source or indie projects (like Fritzing) rely solely on PayPal’s default wall without enabling guest checkout or regional payment options. In a lot of European countries, credit cards and PayPal aren’t the go-to standard — local methods like iDEAL, SEPA, Giropay, or Bancontact are way more common, and forcing a mandatory account creation just for a tiny $8 download is a massive UX bottleneck. They definitely lose supporters over that friction.
Unfortunately, since Fritzing has historically been a very small team, their web shop setup is pretty rigid. Have you tried reaching out to their support directly or checking if they have an alternative donation/payment link? Sometimes projects have an old-school bank transfer (IBAN) option hidden away if you email them.
