New generic solar panel part

Solar Panel.fzpz (6.3 KB)

A generic small 6V solar panel part. Will be creating another 2 – medium and large

Note: Before you download v1.0.7 when it’s released, make sure you delete this part from your system

inverters, breakers, structures, eclamps?

Sorry what do u mean? Be a little more specific please!

That is a full AC power distribution system. It does not even include the solar panel that the thread is about. That solar panel is just fine without any of that, depending on the project. Also a ‘small’ solar panel would not be used in such a major off grid power system. Totally different scope.

The presence of AC distribution does not imply a large or permanent installation; it reflects design requirements, not the magnitude of the photovoltaic solar project.

Claiming that “the panel is just fine without any of that” ignores fundamental electrical engineering practice. The panel may produce power, but it does not:

regulate voltage,

provide isolation,

manage surge currents,

ensure waveform compatibility,

or safely interface with real-world loads.

As for the assertion that a small panel would not be used in such a system: this is demonstrably false. Modular and scalable designs routinely start with low-wattage PV inputs and use standard power electronics so the system can grow without redesign. This is standard practice in telecom, instrumentation, remote sensing, and prototyping environments.

In short:

The architecture shown is technology-appropriate, not overkill.

System topology is dictated by electrical constraints, not panel size.

Dismissing the design as “totally different scope” reflects a misunderstanding of how power systems are actually engineered.

Erhh… This small solar panel is meant to be planted on car toys for kids… Off-tooic

Anyways, I have submitted this part to github repo fritzing-parts core parts so changing it would be troublesome. Likeky you will see this part in fritzing 1.0.7 or later
