When loading a part, newer version of Fritzing demand a “fritzingVersion” attribute for the part.
Why that warning?
This warning might be annoying, but it has a very good reason.
We want to make it as easy to create new parts for Fritzing.
The fritzingVersion attribute is used to disable or enable features in Fritzing, or even to work around bugs from old Fritzing versions. There are very few features that depend in the fritzingVersion of a part. We aim to keep it minimal, but it is not always possible.
So, the fritzingVersion has two purposes
- Allow us to introduce new features for the part format
- Allow us to migrate old parts on the fly, cleaning up legacy code in Fritzing
What fritzingVersion to use?
The fritzingVersion should be set to the version that you used when creating the part, and validated the part with.
