Hi there, is there any easy way to modify such basic connectors, rather than creating a new part?
It would be great, if there’s an option where you can just add or remove a pin…

You can modify them via Inspector. You need to drag it in to a sketch before you can change it though.
once there you can use Inspector (the lower right window) to change number of connectors, sex and format.

lol. Okey thank you
If you get the correct connector, then it is easy…
Don’t know, why this did not show up, when I searched the partlist for “connectors”…
Only the pre-defined ones showed up then.
[EDIT]
But the request would remain for parts like this:
Probably because the headers are generated on the fly by the parts factory (and thus don’t exist in core parts which is what parts search searches.)
Peter
It’s not because it is in parts factory. It is because of the keyword tags used by the search function. The base part needed here is labelled as a generic “header”, not a “connector”. It shows up at the very bottom of a search for “header”.
The screw terminal shown in the post above can also be ‘extended’, but changing the number of pins in inspector once the part has been placed in the sketch. Searching for “terminal” brings that one up at the top of the list.
Search could be smarter, but it is limited by what tags have been added to each of the parts, which is not very consistent. You need to try other ways of looking up the same thing. I don’t know how search deals with languages. Things I have looked at are all in English.
I expect the translate function gets called in the search and it translates the tags in to the current language.
Peter
Which could be part of the problem. If translation of the word the user entered does not match the actually tags in the part. It would seem ‘simpler’ to translate what the user entered one time, instead of translating all of the part tags. But the actual search seems to be too ‘exact’, so the specific word used is very important.
