I think the Fritzing may be a useful program and I am willing to make a contribution to try it but
----- I have no mobile phone (no mobile reception here) so cannot receive a code. I do have a normal landline but this does not receive messages.
How can I get the software?
AFAIK you don’t need a phone. If you go to fritzing.org and click on download and make a contribution it will take you to the download page where you can download the code no phone required. Log in to the Fritzing site first as then they will send you a confirmation email which will contain a download link which will allow you to download new versions for (I think!) about 1 year without donating again.

It appears to insist upon phone number. If I set my normal number it send a message with no option to continue.
This is a requirement of Paypal. I had to cancel my Paypal account as I could not get a text message.
