Does anyone have or can do a ams1117 5v to 3.3v

Does anyone have or can make the ams1117 5v to 3.3v module? (the small version)
I have looked for it but I can’t find it.
If anyone can help me, I am very grateful.

This part should do what you want

ams1117-module.fzpz (7.7 KB)

Thanks for this, but when I try to import it, i get an error “The system cannot find the file specified”

I’m using V 1.0.3, does it matter?

Do you go to file → open to import the part?

No, for me it works fine on 1.0.3. I did need to use File->open to open the file because my current version is 1.0.5 (which you should update to, there is a link in the receipt email from Fritzing.org which will allow you to download new versions for a period of time) although 1.0.3 should work fine as is there are bug fixes in the later versions.

Peter

Oh wow that worked, thank you so much. Last thing I thought to do was to open it from file

It should open if you double click on it (it does by default on Windows, it may need enabling in Linux or MacOS.)

Peter

I actually did try that but it gave the same error. but going the file / open route worked.

What error does it give? The two ways should work the same AFAIK.

Peter

It opened a new fritzing and then stopped at “the system could not find the file” or something similar. Now it wont attempt, because the part is loaded.

But it’s all working now thank you so much

That symptom sounds to me like Fritzing was not ‘fully’ installed. Specifically, the fritzing part specific file extensions (.fzpz) has not been properly ‘registered’ to be used by Fritzing. Another possibility is that the file you were opening was on a remove device, like google drive. That has been known to confuse some installations.
Once the part has been loaded successfully, another attempt should fail with a message about the part ID already being in use.
