Copper fill necessary?

Hey guys,

I’ve created my first PCB, a simple circuit to convert footswitches to MIDI messages via an Arduino nano.

There is a small issue when I upload and check the board. The warning message appears that there are large areas of low copper usage on both sides of the PCB, each less than 10%.

So I’d like to know if an additional copper fill is necessary while each connector is wired correctly? Is it possible that the PCB does not work correctly in the end?

I look forward to your answers!
Best regards,
Konne

No. At most the message is saying that it is an inefficient use of etchant for copper removal. As long as the board is wired correctly it will work fine.
