Bulk Upload Parts

Hi,

Is there any way to bulk upload libraries or parts?

Thank you.

Yes, you create an fzb file (which is a collection of parts) and upload that. I’m not sure if the process is documented or not, a search for fzb in the forum search bar should find previous posts on the subject though.

I am sorry, it’s my mistake, I meant to bulk import to the app.

Right now I have FZPZ files.

Is there any way, Peter?

Thanks.

An fzbz file. That is a collection of parts that uploads in to a parts bin. For example the Adafruit parts repo here (I left the trailing z of the fzb above):

as I recall creating them is a little exciting but there are old forum posts about doing so.

Hi, Peter, I have these files on my PC, there is no bin file for these parts.

I want to import these to Fritzing, but it must one by one. I tried impot bin file and it already include some parts in it. But this one some parts without bin, is there any way to create bin from these parts without import it one by one to Fritzing?

Thank you, Peter.

There are at least two ways. The first is to add the parts to the mine parts bin (which loading will do anyway) like this:

right click on the part and select add to bin (my parts is your only choice though.) As noted loading the part does this automatically so this really isn’t that much use. The other way is to create a fzbz file of all the parts you want, define the bin name add an icon image then import the .fzbz which will place the parts in the bin. There may be documentation for making fzbz files (or may not) there are certainly forum posts from the past about doing so (it is fairly complex as I recall.)

Ah!

I just tried to drag all of them to the working area! and guess what? all of them imported to “Mine” bin.

Oh my God! I thought I must import one by one from right click on the “Mine” bin area.

Thank you, Peter!

Huh! Learned something new. Dragging a part in to Fritzing causes it to load. I usually either double click on the .fzpz file or use file->open to load, but drag and drop also appears to work.
