I’m new here, which is the correct side of the terminal block to connect the wire — does it need to face outward for me to connect the wire?!! On the PCB it’s drawn as a square and a rectangle at the tip. Does that rectangle need to face inward or outward??
This depends on the physical connectors you are using. The part you choose seems to have 200mil distance, first verify if that is the correct size.
For example, the screw terminal connector i have is 3.5mm , not 200mil (sorry for mixing metric and imperial)
You could insert the connectors from either side.
It might be helpful to use the squared connector for GND to avoid mixups.
In my example here I also added some text elements as labels, “-” and “+” to reduce the risk of accidentally reversing polarity.
