Looking for a 1.25mm pitch molex picoblade 8 pin or similar - THT - I’m not sure if it’s a Fritzing DRC bug or a parts bug - found these https://forum.fritzing.org/t/need-some-custom-parts-made/6893/6?u=vanepp by vanepp - albeit only 2 and 3 pin BUT as soon as I add a trace to them, they fail the DRC check even with 8mil traces.
(It’s not because there’s 3 of the links parts close together, I get the same DRC failure with just one once a trace is joined to it)
I also tried to use the regular/core PCB Headers part, set the pitch to 1.25, changed hole size to 0.32 and ring size as low as 0.20 to test and same problem - it fails DRC as soon as I add a trace
I was just about to say I tried that and looked everywhere but couldn’t find any settings… the I just this second looked again, realised that clicking “custom” shows the extra settings I needed! I’m an idiot - with that said though, for my current design I have switched to picoblade SMD variant that I found within Fritzing (so either a bin I added ages ago or could be part of the core) and that passes DRC fine - I guess since it’s SMD maybe.
No rush on the 8 pin THT - would still be great to have it though as I have loads of THT versions to make use of anyways - so greatly appreciated, thank you
This part should do what you want for the 8 pin tht part. If you want an SMD version that is easy enough to create given a suggested pcb footprint.
edit: replace part due to slight error in pcb pitch (1.27mm rather than 1.25mm.) If you downloaded the original part please redownload the replacement!.
Fritzing already has 8pin SMD version that the footprint is correct on (at least for the SMD variant I received). This 8 pin THT version will be ideal for the through-hold connectors I have.
This part should do what you want. The reason for the “should” is the holes in pcb are 0.02in where this part of the data sheet specifies hole size as 0.5mm (which is around 0.02in circled in green) but below it (circled in red) is a I think a hole size of 0.8mm which seems way too large to me, so I went with 0.5mm.
