Code View: Displaying Code Line numbers

Code View: Option for displaying code line numbers on the left side

Is there any option to display line numbers in the code view?
In case of an compiling error you get the line number but without displayed
line numbers in the code view is very difficult to find the right place.

Unfortunately I don’t see one, which likely means no. I’m also not sure that code upload works (it did not used to a couple or 3 years ago.) I typically use the Arduino IDE directly and ignore code view.
