Check the data sheet. To use an advanced chip such as this you need to read and re-read it as many times as it takes to understand all of its functions and how they interact before you try and build something with it.

The CEA EDID Timing Extension was first introduced in EIA/CEA-861, and has since been updated several times, most notably with the −861B revision (which was version 3 of the extension, adding Short Video Descriptors and advanced audio capability/configuration information), −861D (published in July 2006 and containing updates to the audio segments), −861E, and −861F which was published on June 4, 2013. According to Brian Markwalter, senior vice president, research and standards, CEA, −861F "in The...
IRE is a unit in video processing
An IRE is a unit used in the measurement of composite video signals. Its name is derived from the initials of the Institute of Radio Engineers. A value of 100 IRE was originally defined to be the range from black to white in a video signal. A value of 0 IRE corresponds to the voltage value of the signal during the blanking period. The sync pulse is normally 40 IRE below this 0 IRE value, so the total range covered from peak to trough of an all white signal would be 140 IRE. The reason IRE is a re...
