I did an interoperability study of the BOM market. I generated BOMs with various PCB design tools, and tried them against various BOM importing tools. Here are the results:
Based on this study, the most interoperable file-format for BOM generators is the CSV file format, which uses “,” (comma), not “;” as the field seperator.
